| This is Karsten's 1972 Chevrolet El Camino. A detail that makes this car unique is that it is assembled at GM's assemblywork in Aldersrosgade, Copenhagen. So this Camino is actually "Danish" from new and as the factory closed in the autumn of 1974 it is also one of the last american cars assembled in Denmark. It was born with a 4096 ccm 6-inline engine and 3-speed manual gearbox. This setup has now been replaced with a 5700 ccm V8 with 350 TH autotransmission. The engine is tuned with high compression pistons, fast road camshaft, torker inlet manifold, headers and dual exhaust. According to the owner it has no problems keeping up with the traffic..... |
