This Volvo Amazon is a custom build that used to belong to a friend of mine, Mikkel Steen. It was build by a father and son in Sweden and imported to Denmark by a relative. Unfortunately the relative got sick and had to sell the car a month after it arrived to Denmark, and my friend bought it. It featured a lowered roof, customs interior, custom front grille and turning signals, customs rear end with another type of Volvo rear lights, and customs wheels. The engine was at the time a 2.3 Ford V6 but apparently the engine the car initially was build with were a turbocharged Rover V8. The gearbox was a 4-speed Volvo item with a defect overdrive and there were mounted "HiJacker" air-dampers at the rear - they were also defect. Unfortunately the car was purely a show car which meant that nor the chrome or the paintjob lasted one of the normally mild Danish winters. When my friend had to move abroad due to work and education he sold the car and it is, as far as we now, undergoing restoration. A remarkable car and a rare sight in Denmark.
